On September 3, Tanana Chiefs Conference’s (TCC) Chief Sharon Hildebrand joined Nenana City Mayor Josh Verhagen, Chief of Nenana Donald Charlie, and 2nd Chief Brianna Ketzler in welcoming Senator Lisa Murkowski and her staff to Nenana.
During the visit, leaders toured the site of the future Nenana Health and Wellness Complex and discussed the importance of the project to the community, as well as the continued collaboration needed to move it forward. The complex, which will include a new health clinic and fire station, represents a joint effort between the Nenana Native Association, the City of Nenana, and TCC to strengthen health care and emergency services in the community.
Following the site visit, Senator Murkowski attended a community meeting at the Nenana Tribal Hall, where she heard directly from residents about local priorities and answered questions.
TCC appreciates Senator Murkowski taking the time to visit Nenana, see the project firsthand, and connect with community members and leadership.
