Resolution 2018-03: Feasibility Study For Lower Yukon Health Care

WHEREAS, Lower Yukon Subregion (GASH) villages, Grayling, Holy Cross, Anvik, and Shageluk receive health care services from the Yukon Kuskokwim Health Corporation (YKHC); and

WHEREAS, the GASH villages have discussed their health care options: to keep their health care services with YKHC, to switch services to Southcentral Foundation, or to create their own regional super clinic; and

WHEREAS, the GASH villages are seeking assistance to acquire funding for a feasibility study in the Lower Yukon Subregion to explore the best health care option for their tribal members; and

WHEREAS, this feasibility study can act as a guide for tribal leaders to make a more informed decision regarding tribal health care within the Lower Yukon Subregion.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Tanana Chiefs Conference Full Board of Directors directs staff to assist in the identification of funds for a feasibility study for the GASH villages Health Care Services in collaboration with YKHC and direct staff to be available to answer questions regarding healthcare funding through IHS and the Alaska Tribal Health Compact.
