Patient Travel Restrictions for Non-Urgent and Elective Services

The Patient Travel  program is limiting travel to only those services that cannot be postponed for 3 months (e.g., facility discharges, emergency ambulance transports, acute psychiatric events, urgent surgery). This decision follows the Alaska State Chief Medical Officer’s advisory requesting that providers postpone non-urgent and elective services.

Patient Travel will be returning all travel request to staff. If the appointment can be rescheduled, please do so. If the travel is considered urgent / emergent please return travel request to Patient Travel. We will reach out to receiving provider to collect LOMN stating as to why travel cannot be rescheduled.

Any appointments that are cancelled by providers, please still notify Patient Travel so that we can make sure the travel is cancelled as well.
