Victor Joseph Honored with NIHB Sovereignty in Action Award

Congratulations to Victor Joseph, TCC Chief Administrative Officer, who recently received the 2026 Sovereignty in Action Award for advocacy from the National Indian Health Board (NIHB).

Victor accepted the award during NIHB’s Heroes in Health Awards Banquet, held as part of the National Tribal Health Conference. The Sovereignty in Action Awards are among NIHB’s highest national honors, recognizing individuals and organizations whose leadership, innovation and dedication have made significant contributions to American Indian and Alaska Native health, Tribal health systems and public policy. The award honors work that advances Tribal sovereignty and strengthens the health and well-being of Tribal communities through advocacy, policy, innovation and culturally grounded leadership.

Victor’s recognition reflects his many years of leadership and service to the Tribes and people of Interior Alaska and his continued commitment to strengthening Tribal self-determination and the systems that serve our communities.
