TCC Health Aides Honored at 2026 Community Health Aide Forum

Tanana Chiefs Conference (TCC) proudly celebrates the outstanding Community Health Aides who were recognized at the 2026 Community Health Aide Forum. These honors reflect the dedication, leadership, and compassion that Health Aides bring to their communities every day.

Lydia David, Community Health Aide in Tetlin, with the North Star Award.

Lydia David, Community Health Practitioner (CHP) in Tetlin, received the prestigious North Star Award. This award recognizes a Health Aide or Clinical Supervisor who demonstrates exceptional leadership and service. For more than 20 years, Lydia has been the backbone of health care in Tetlin. She is known for delivering high-quality patient care, honoring her culture, respecting Elders, and always putting her community first. Her commitment extends beyond her village, as she mentors new Health Aides and continues to serve with strength and consistency. Lydia’s work reflects a deep dedication to the people she serves.

Johanna Coghill, CHP in Nenana, was also recognized as a nominee for the North Star Award, highlighting her strong leadership and commitment to her community.

Loren Thomas, CHA II, was nominated for the Rising Star Award, which honors Health Aides with fewer than three years of service who demonstrate excellence and contribute to improving health care in their communities. Loren’s nomination reflects a promising and impactful start in the field.

The forum also honored Setting Stars, recognizing Health Aides who have passed away in the past year and whose service left a lasting impact on their communities. TCC Health Aides remembered in this category include Sharon Agnes, Rose Ambrose, and Jenny Joseph. Their contributions and dedication will not be forgotten.
