Resolution 2019-18: Wellness and Prevention Activities for the Upper Tanana Region

WHEREAS, Tanana Chiefs Conference (TCC) is an Alaska Native tribal health and social services consortium established by the Interior Alaska tribes and tribal communities, to provide a unified voice in advancing sovereign tribal governments through the promotion of physical and mental wellness, education, socioeconomic development and culture of the Interior Alaska Native; and

WHEREAS, the Tok Native Association and the tribes of the Upper-Tanana are concerned about wellness and prevention in the Upper Tanana Region; and

WHEREAS, the subregion would like additional prevention resources to reduce suicides, meth, alcohol and drugs through positive and uplifting activities for our youth; and

WHEREAS, the wellness and prevention coordinator activities should be well communities to each village of the Upper Tanana.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Tanana Chiefs Conference Full Board of Directors direct staff to appropriately communicate wellness and prevention coordinator activities to the Upper Tanana communities and report regularly on these activities at the subregional meetings.
