Honoring Chief Andrew Jimmie

During last month’s TCC Annual Convention and Full Board of Directors Meeting, TCC recognized Second Traditional Chief Andrew Jimmie. Chief Jimmie has spent more than 30 years in Health Leadership, serving on the TCC Health Advisory Board as the Chair.

TCC took a moment to thank Chief Andy Jimmie for his incredible service on the Health Advisory Board. For over three decades, he’s been a key figure, offering his knowledge and leadership to guide healthcare initiatives and tackle tough challenges faced by our communities.

Chief Jimmie has worn many hats over the years, showing his commitment to helping indigenous communities. From servicing as a Minto Village Councilmember to his tenure as Chief of Minto and beyond, Chief Jimmie’s influence has been felt far and wide. He has served on the Doyon Board, chaired and vice-chaired the Alaska Native Health Board, and represented TCC on the ANTHC Board of Directors.

Throughout his tenure as Chair of the Health Advisory Board, Chief Jimmie has tirelessly advocated for improved healthcare access and quality for indigenous peoples. His expertise, informed by years of experience and a profound understanding of community needs, has been instrumental in shaping healthcare policies and initiatives within the TCC region.

Now, as Chief Jimmie steps down from his role, we want to recognize and appreciate all he’s done. His hard work and passion for helping others will continue to inspire us.
