Dr. Kelliher Named President of AAIP

Tanana Chiefs Conference (TCC) is proud to recognize Dr. Allison Kelliher, Director of the Indigenous Healing Program at the Chief Andrew Isaac Health Center, on her appointment as President of the Association of American Indian Physicians (AAIP). Dr. Kelliher, a Koyukon Athabascan physician, traditional healer, educator and researcher, assumed the role during AAIP’s 54th Annual Meeting and Health Conference in September.

Dr. Kelliher has been involved with AAIP for nearly two decades, serving as a Director-at-Large and Chair of its Rites & Ceremonies Committee. Her work focuses on bringing Indigenous knowledge and traditional healing practices together with clinical medicine, medical education and research.

As president, Dr. Kelliher will help guide the national organization in its mission to improve health outcomes in American Indian and Alaska Native communities and support Native physicians and future health professionals.

TCC congratulates Dr. Kelliher on this achievement and celebrates her leadership in advancing Indigenous healing, strengthening Native representation in medicine and honoring the knowledge and traditions that have supported our people for generations.
