To better serve the TCC region, the TCC Cultural Program is developing programming to:

  • Center cultural knowledge development through activities – potentially including theatrical performances/presentations
  • Pass on traditional craft skills
  • Help connect the TCC community to heritage-strengthening activities such as Native Youth Olympics

The program intends to enhance and revitalize traditional cultural practices of interior tribes while providing opportunities for cultural knowledge holders and master artisans to share their unique skills in a multigenerational setting.

We encourage you to following TCC social media platforms for announcements relating to events, activities and Cultural Program sponsored opportunities.

All programs are located inside the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center, 101 Dunkel Street, along the river in downtown Fairbanks.

Introducing Jennifer Probert-Erhart, Cultural Program Coordinator

My name is Jennifer Probert Erhart, and I am honored to serve as the new Cultural Program Coordinator at Tanana Chiefs Conference. My parents are Dale and Nellie (Denny) Probert of Tok/Tanacross. I was raised in the Upper Tanana region and graduated from Tok High School and later UAF.  I am married to Carl Erhart of Tanana. Together we have six children and three grandchildren. I’m a 3rd generation sprint dog musher, an artist and content creator.  I love spending time in Mansfield (fish camp) and eating my favorite food, white fish eggs and stomach.

I’ve worked with TCC for over 13 years, including the past two and a half years as the Rural Tribal Court Coordinator under the Tribal Government and Justice Department. Prior to that I worked for the Diabetes program – under the SDPI and GHWIC grants focusing on policy, systems and environmental changes.

I’m excited for this new role and the opportunity to help strengthen and share our cultures with future generations.
