By Ricardo Lenti Saint Lawrence, TCC Employment & Training Case Manager
Nine Tribal members recently completed the 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training hosted by Tanana Chiefs Conference (TCC) Employment & Training in partnership with Environmental Management Inc. (EMI). This week-long program equips participants with nationally recognized certification in hazardous materials handling, cleanup procedures, site safety, and emergency response. By gaining these skills, graduates are now better prepared to support their communities during flood season, fuel spills, and other environmental emergencies where trained responders are essential.
In addition to strengthening local capacity, this certification also opens new pathways to employment in environmental cleanup, construction, emergency response, and other fields that require OSHA-compliant safety training. We are proud of the dedication shown by all nine participants and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will bring back to their villages.
TCC Employment & Training offers many opportunities throughout the year for Tribal members to grow their skillsets. Check out our webpage to learn more about our upcoming trainings: https://www.tananachiefs.org/services/job-training/.
