Previous Awesome Table Version
Below is the original Awesome Table implementation that is currently being used for the MMIP map experience.
Compare the current awesometable version with the new custom-built interactive map below to see the improvements in performance, usability, filtering, navigation, clustering, branding, and long-term scalability.
Interactive Alaska MMIP Intelligence Map
This updated MMIP map was rebuilt as a custom WordPress and Elementor solution using the existing missing persons spreadsheet as the data source, which now lives directly within WordPress instead of being loaded externally through Gmail and Awesome Table.
Instead of relying on the Awesome Table app and its free usage limitations, this version reads the uploaded Excel file directly and displays the data in a searchable, filterable interactive map and table.
Features included in this version:
- Interactive map with clustered location pins
- Color-coded case markers
- Search by name, missing age, location, and last seen date
- Sortable table columns
- Clickable rows that open the matching map profile card
- Photo profile cards with direct profile links
- CSV export, printing, clear filters, and shareable filtered URLs
Hosting both the custom widget and the XLSX data source directly within WordPress gives us greater control over branding, layout, functionality, security, and long-term maintenance while reducing dependency on third-party application limits.
This version is also significantly faster because the data is loaded locally from WordPress rather than from an external third-party service.
