The NOAA Fisheries Alaska Regional Office, Sustainable Fisheries Division, would like to invite you to consult with us prior to the June 2025 North Pacific Fisheries Management Council meeting. The specific topics on the Council agenda may change at any time. In addition to other items, the following topics may be of interest and are planned to be discussed for possible Council action: -Pelagic trawl gear definition – initial/final action -Pelagic trawl gear innovation – discussion paper -Climate workplan including next steps for Climate, Ecosystem, and Fisheries Initiative (CEFI) and Council Updates Federal law and Executive Orders recognize the government-to-government relationship between Tribes and the U.S. government. Consultation isn’t a favor—it’s a legal obligation.
