After encouragement from numerous tribal leaders, the TCC Executive Board of Directors made the decision this morning to postpone our 2020 Annual Convention and Full Board of Directors Meeting. This decision was made with the safety of our tribes, tribal members, and employees in mind. TCC is taking a proactive approach to ensure the health and safety of everyone. As you know, this convention was to include an important election – our new Chief/Chairman. In accordance with TCC Bylaws (Article 5, Section 2), Victor Joseph will stay on as the TCC Chief/Chairman until the Full Board has the opportunity to vote. TCC has initiated a task force that has been meeting each day and continuously monitoring the progression of COVID-19. We understand there will be many questions about the postoned convention and elections, we will seek guidance from our subregions and communicate as decisions are made. |
