The Tanana Chiefs Conference (TCC) Tribal Protection and Safety Division, in collaboration with the Emerging Leaders Youth Council, has launched a new educational effort aimed at promoting gun safety. This initiative includes the development of a short, impactful video designed to raise awareness and encourage responsible practices among youth and community members.
This project was guided by TCC’s Full Board of Directors through Resolution 2025-06: “Educating Youth & TCC Communities on Hunting and Gun Safety to Reduce Gun Violence and Preventable Deaths.” The resolution underscores the importance of education and proactive measures to protect lives while honoring the cultural traditions of safe hunting.
By centering youth voices and fostering a sense of responsibility, the campaign seeks to create a safer environment for all. The video emphasizes key principles of gun safety, aiming to reduce preventable injuries and fatalities while preserving the values and practices that are integral to our communities.
