Resolution 2017-05: Opportunity and Awareness for Youth

WHEREAS, The tribal governments of Grayling, Anvik, Shageluk, and Holy Cross want to increase the number of local jobs in each village; and

WHEREAS, These tribal governments believe TCC can increase its presence in the subregion by staffing subregional positions, including an education specialist; and

WHEREAS, This subregional education specialist would work with youth and other interested individuals seeking higher or vocational education; and

WHEREAS, The tribal governments of Grayling, Anvik, Shageluk, and Holy Cross believe that youth being exposed to this sort of education and information would develop skills and education to better prepare themselves for adulthood; and

WHEREAS, TCC has been successful in the past with subregional offices located in villages around the TCC Region.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Tanana Chiefs Conference Full Board of Directors hereby acts to create opportunities and awareness for youth to acquire skills to enhance their ability to find jobs and make informed choices in their future endeavors, subject to the availability of funds.
