We offer a wide range of family-centered services focused on promoting and supporting safe and stable families.

ASAP

We provide temporary assistance to individuals through our Athabascan Self-Sufficiency Assistance Partnership Program (ASAP).

We can provides services to families with children under the age of 19 that are attending school, or someone that is taking care of a relative child. Applicant filing as head of household has to be tribally enrolled or eligible for enrollment into a federal recognized Tribe.

The program provides temporary financial support to help with:

    • shelter
    • utilities
    • food
    • clothing
    • work supportive services

Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (ASAP) Forms:

General Assistance

We provide services to people who are single or married that have no children that are enrolled or are eligible to enroll to a federally recognized Tribe . The program provides some financial assistance to help pay for shelter, utilities, food and clothing costs during the months when there are few employment opportunities.

Burial Assistance

Burial assistance provides financial assistance to help with funeral costs up to $2,500.00 which $400 can be used for potlatch supplies. The deceased must be a member of or eligible for membership in a federally recognized Tribe and has resided in one of the 37 villages located in the Alaska interior for the past 30 days or has not been absent from their permanent residence in the past 60 days.

If the deceased received Adult temporary assistance, adult public assistance, or nursing home Medicaid you will need to apply through the State of Alaska Division of Public Assistance Burial Assistance Program.

Emergency Assistance

Emergency assistance provides $1000 per household in the event that your home has been damaged by flood or fire. Applicant filing as head of household has to be tribally enrolled or eligible for enrollment in to a federally recognized Tribe and must reside in one of the 37 villages located in the Interior of Alaska.

For residents living in these communities you will need to apply through your Tribal Council.
