President Obama signed the
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) into
law on February 17, 2009, advancing an ambitious plan to
revitalize the nations economy. This $787 Billion package
seeks to stimulate economic growth through federal spending
on such programs as education, energy, health care, and
transportation.
The ARRA emphasizes rapid
expenditures by imposing deadlines for application and
disbursement and granting priority to projects that can use
funds quickly. Therefore, authorities that are able to take
quick action will benefit most from the new funding.
Many Provisions of the ARRA do
not provide guidance on the distribution of funds provided.
In the coming weeks, relevant government agencies will issue
guidance regarding application and disbursement of funds
under their jurisdiction. TCC will work to keep this
website updated as much as possible with ARRA information
pertinent to Tribes in our region.
TCC would like to encourage
you to apply for these ARRA funds as they become available
and will assist you as much as possible. If you have
questions or need additional information please feel free to
contact Charlisa Attla, Special Projects Director, at ext
