TCC YES provides a variety of work experience opportunities for youth; these include but are not necessarily limited to:

• Summer Work Experience in Fairbanks and TCC villages.

• Limited school- year work experiences.

• Earth Work Quest Internship Program

Career Exploration

TCC YES helps youth explore and identify career interests by several means. Youth enrolled in our program may participate or be eligible for the following services:  

• Career assessments

• Career exploration courses

• Vocational exploration 

• 2-3 day career workshops

• Work Experience

GED Assistance

TCC YES can provide you with access to “Skills Tutor” – an online GED preparation program that will assist you in practicing and preparing to pass your exams. We will also provide you with monetary incentives ($$) for passing your exams and receiving your GED!

This is a broad area and includes many of the other categories listed. Individual requests are examined on a case-by-case basis and determined, in part, by available funding.

Leadership Training

At TCC’s YES we offer a variety of opportunities for leadership development. We have our own leadership programs such as:

• TCC Annual Convention Youth Delegates

• Denakkanaaga Youth Delegates

• In-house leadership trainings

We also recruit and send youth to other available leadership opportunities:

• Military

• Alaska Military Youth Academy

• Rural Alaska Honors Institute (RAHI)

• Other leadership programs

We can offer a variety of adaptable services  offering awards for good grades and attendance.
